Union County EMS is proud to announce that we are now submitting data to the National EMS Information System (NEMSIS). NEMSIS is a secure nationwide database of EMS data and statistics that was mandated for all systems to become compliant with. The purpose of NEMSIS is to provide a secure means of collecting and analyzing EMS data from across the country to improve research, training, and patient care. It also allows electronic information to be utilized by pre-hospital personnel regarding patient progress, credentialing systems, and other resources. UCEMS uses the MICS E-PCR software system created by Colleton Software, a NEMSIS Gold Compliant software vendor. UCEMS now has the necessary software upgrades and is fully functional, meeting national standards for electronic submission. For more information, visit www.NEMSIS.org (06/09)
