Union County EMS currently utilizes a mixed fleet of American LaFrance Freightliner ambulances and rescue truck and Ford F-350 chassis. Future plans are to purchase a third Freightliner ambulance to complete the matching fleet.


Medic 6
This heavy rescue/support truck is operated by the shift supervisor, It carries limited medical supplies, extrication equipment (generators, Hurst tools, Airbags, Cribbing, etc.), Rope rescue equipment, confined space rescue equipment, and various other tools and supplies. The truck has been featured in the exhibit hall at the 2006 S.C. Fire & Rescue Conference in Myrtle Beach. The truck was purchased with funds provided by the Union County Healthcare Foundation.

Medic 1 & 2
These are the two primary "front-line" ambulances that are located in Union. They are fully equipped with the latest state-of-the-art equipment and supplies.
Medic 5
Currently, this is the only EMS substation for Union County. This unit operates 24/7 and is located in the town of Jonesville on Spartanburg Highway. The new Freightliner ambulance ordered is set to replace this F-350.
Medic 9
This is the newest member of the UCEMS fleet- Medic 9. A 2006 Ford E-350, this truck serves as a dedicated non-urgent transport unit. Currently operating Monday-Friday, M-9 provides transport to and from the hospital from area nursing homes, return trips to patient's residences, etc.
