Public Information
Union County EMS has a public relations program established to assist the general public in learning more about us and the services that we provide. We also use this program to educate the community concerning general health issues they may have. We visit schools and speak to the kids of the community, let them tour our emergency units, and answer questions they may have about emergency services. Follow the links below to learn more about a few of these specific health issues.

ATTENTION CITIZENS:
PLEASE REMEMBER TO PREPARE FOR AN EMERGENCY BEFORE IT HAPPENS! THIS INCLUDES MAKING YOUR HOME EASY TO LOCATE FOR EMERGENCY RESPONDERS. THIS MEANS THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR ADDRESS NUMBER POSTED IN REFLECTIVE NUMBERS AT THE ROAD, EITHER ON A 911 SIGN (REFLECTIVE GREEN OR BLUE) OR IN HIGH VISIBILITY NUMBERS ON YOUR MAILBOX. SIMPLY HAVING THE HOUSE NUMBER ON THE HOUSE USUALLY PRESENTS A PROBLEM FOR RESPONDERS AND CAN DRAMATICALLY DELAY RESPONSE TIMES REACHING YOU OR YOUR LOVED ONE. PLEASE COMPLY AND POST YOUR REFLECTIVE NUMBERS IN FRONT OF YOUR HOUSE AT THE STREET LEVEL. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE A REFLECTIVE 911 SIGN WITH YOUR ADDRESS NUMBERS ON IT, PLEASE CONTACT THE UNION COUNTY EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS OFFICE OR ANY COUNTY FIREFIGHTER.

HELP US HELP YOU
Any time when EMS is called to a scene to help someone, treatment for that person is aided by several things: Who the person is, What kind of medical problems they have, what medicines they take, and who to contact in case of emergency. Often, people who are unconscious or those who live alone are not able to provide this information to EMS providers, thus presenting a challenge to Providers in caring for that person and transferring the patient to the receiving Emergency Department at the hospital. However, a simple, yet effective method of providing this vital information has been discovered. In this modern day of technology and communication, most people possess cell phones which may in fact, save your life...
Here is the concept:
