EMS employees are pictured above at the headquarters facility. The complex is a former automotive dealership that was remodeled into the main operations center for UCEMS. The facility houses the two 24 hour emergency crews, the shift supervisor and rescue rig, the non-emergent transport team, the EMS director offices, and other EMS resources such as all terrain vehicles. The complex is located on the corner of Duncan Bypass and Whitmire Highway.

  • New 2007 American LaFrance Freightliner ambulance is completed. Unit is showcased at the S.C. Emergency Care Symposium in Myrtle Beach--SEE HOME PAGE Tenative delivery is set for 1-2 weeks following pre-delivery inspection. (4/07)
  • 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe is purchased as a director's vehicle, will become Medic 8. (4/07)
  • Convalescent ambulance service begins on 1/08/07 as Medic 9, operating M-F (01/07)
  • Hospital board approves new EMS non-emergent unit for Monday-Friday operation. This new expanded service to begin soon. (10/06)
  • Carolina's Healthcare System assumed management responsibilities on August 1. The new management group will be overseeing all of Union Hospital District's divisions including Wallace Thomson Hospital, Union County EMS and Ellen Sager Nursing Home. (8/06)
  • Currently, the standing order/protocols for Union County EMS are being revised and updated. (7/06)
  • A new American LaFrance Freightliner ambulance (M2 Chassis) has been ordered and tentative delivery is set for 3/07.
